Coffee, in
full colour.

A Woodstock micro-roastery pulling bright, single-origin espresso and hand-poured filter — roasted out back, poured out front, not a beige cup in sight.

Why Chroma

Small-batch,
seriously bright.

01

Roasted out back

We roast in small batches behind the bar every week — you're never more than a few days from roast day.

02

Single-origin, in season

We buy one crop at a time and pour it while it's singing. When it's gone, the next origin takes over.

03

Dialled in daily

Every shot is recalibrated each morning for the beans, the weather and the grind. Consistency you can taste.

Life's too short for beige coffee.

So we roast bright, pour bold, and paint the whole thing in colour — from the cup to the walls.

Our story

Roasted in the
back of the shop.

Chroma started in 2019 with a second-hand roaster, a corner of a Woodstock warehouse and one stubborn idea: coffee should taste like something — bright, fruity, alive — not burnt into submission.

Five years on we're in the same building, still roasting every week, still refusing to make anything beige.

Loved by the neighbourhood

The batch brew is the only reason I make it to work on time. Brightest cup in Cape Town, hands down.

Thandi M.Woodstock

I came for the flat white and stayed for the walls. The whole place just feels like a good mood.

James P.Salt River

They actually tell you what's in the cup, and it always tastes like they said. Rare and lovely.
